Stephen and Penny both live in Seattle and wanted to do a Ballard engagement session. Neither of them had been to the Ballard locks so I suggested we do the shoot there. We started at the Botanical Gardens just a short walk from the actual locks. The weather on this march day was perfect and we got some beautiful shots of them.
Whenever I have a Ballard engagement session, I love coming here. The locks are such a fun and unique place to have sessions. If you’re lucky you’ll get to see them in action too, which we did! the golden light during their session was beautiful. Living in Seattle though that can change quickly. Clouds moved in but the sunset out on the water was awesome. Filled with pinks and oranges, it made a gorgeous backdrop against the industrial feel of the locks.
